- Search for the benefit, not just the job title: visa support, relocation, Blue Card.
- Use local words: kennismigrant in Dutch, arbetstillstånd in Swedish, Umzug in German.
- Exclude ads that require existing EU work rights.
- My live job board does this filtering automatically.
Most people search for "visa sponsorship jobs in Germany" and get frustrated. The reason: most ads never use the word sponsorship. Here are the phrases that actually find these jobs, and the shortcut I built.
Search phrases that work
| Language | Try these words |
|---|---|
| English | visa sponsorship, relocation package, relocation support, EU Blue Card, work permit support |
| German | Blaue Karte, Visum, Umzugshilfe, Relocation, englischsprachig |
| Dutch | kennismigrant (highly skilled migrant), relocation, Engelstalig |
| Swedish | arbetstillstånd (work permit), relocation, engelska |
| Danish | arbejdstilladelse (work permit), relocation, engelsk |
| Norwegian | arbeidstillatelse (work permit), relocation, engelsk |
| Finnish | työlupa (work permit), relocation, englanti |
Exclude what wastes your time
- Ads that say you must already have the right to work in the EU.
- Ads that say sponsorship is not available.
- Ads that need fluent local language, if you don't have it.
The shortcut: my live job board
I built a live job board that reads 300+ company career pages and open job boards several times a day, keeps English language jobs in Europe, leaves out ads that require EU work rights, and tags the ones that mention visa or relocation support. For the Netherlands it also checks the IND register of recognised sponsors. Start with Germany or the Netherlands.
Remember
- In Germany, any employer can hire you. There is no sponsor licence, so don't limit yourself to ads that say sponsorship.
- In the Netherlands, check the IND register. Only recognised sponsors can hire highly skilled migrants.
- Apply on the original ad. And follow up with the recruiter.
Common questions
Why don't German job ads mention visa sponsorship?
Because German employers don't need a sponsor licence. Any employer can hire you; you apply for the visa with the contract.
Which keyword finds Dutch sponsor jobs?
Kennismigrant, the Dutch word for highly skilled migrant, plus checking the IND register.
Is there a list of companies that sponsor visas?
For the Netherlands, the IND public register. My job board marks matching companies.
